Blippi Popesicles will go on general sale in the next two weeks, after its first shipment in Australia.
The company’s chief executive, David O’Keefe, said the new line, which comes in a variety of flavours, was launched to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
“We are pleased to have reached a milestone and to share the excitement of the Blippi brand with the Australian community,” Mr O’Keefe said.
The first Blippi popesicle, called Blippi Classic, sold for $9.95 in New South Wales, while the Blippies are now available for $12.99 in Queensland.
Mr OOKeefe said Blippi would be able to offer the Blipsies to other Australian markets as well, with the price set to increase to $15.99 next year.
“This is just the beginning of our partnership with Australia’s growing population,” he said.
“The Blippi family is thrilled to be a part of this important market and look forward to working with our Australian customers and partners to expand the Bliplies to more Australian markets.”
Blippi has been on a growth trajectory since its introduction in 2009, but Mr OKeefe said the brand had been hit by the high price of the current high-fat, high-calorie snacks.
“Our team at Blippi are dedicated to helping our customers to reduce the amount of food they eat and that means reducing their energy use,” he told AAP.
“When you have that kind of control over what you eat, it can be very beneficial.”
The Blippi line has been popular with kids, who can also now enjoy the treats for themselves.
The new line will be available for sale online at the company’s website, blippypopsicles.com.au, on Friday and at the Bluffery on Sunday.
